SPA FACILITY GRAND OPENING
One morning, everyone wakes to a message bearing the title above. Turns out, the area near the greenhouse that has been cordoned off since the Outsiders returned to base was converted to a spa facility! While this was planned before their return from the latest mission as a show of appreciation for everyone's hard work, LILITH hopes, given recent circumstances, that the facility will help Outsiders relax and unwind from their stress. It is open indefinitely and free to use by those on base!
▶ LOUNGE
The entrance leads to a short, undecorated hallway that opens up to a small foyer. It is simple, pristine, and decorated with only a spotting of greenery and a large painting of a beach that replaces what should have been the location of the receptionist's desk. To each side of the painting is an open pathway, half covered by a panel of fabric overhanging the entrance. The pattern is plain, and likely meant to be soothing in appearance.
A pop-up appears in the ocular the moment one steps foot into the area. A generic welcome message, with descriptions of the facilities offered and how to navigate through the area. There are even recommended programs for someone who wants a specific experience! How generous.
Both doors lead behind the foyer into a lounge area just as simple as the room previous. It is plain, decorated in calming blues and a creamy off-white colour. There are a few plants here and there (which may be fake, upon closer inspection), and more landscape paintings hung around the area. Across the room, there are doors to change rooms (though there are no change of clothes within, because the Style Change Upgrade will provide them plain spa robes to be used in the facility.) To the left is a wide space leading to a massage parlor and a nail salon, and to the right is the door leading to the saunas, both dry and wet, and a public bath, obscured partially by a piece of fabric draped over the top half of the doorway.
The only refreshments provided seem to be a single synthetic milk vending machine standing next to the entrance to the baths, branded with the name GYUNEW. The milk comes in different flavours: chocolate, strawberry, banana, some seasonal flavours like pumpkin spice, quirky ones like cotton candy milk, and a flavour that is simply labeled "white". There's no explanation for this flavour. Anyone trying it will find it's creamy and sweet like milk but also somehow manages to taste like every other milk alternative without committing to a single flavor. It also never expires. Strange.
▶ SAUNA
The pathway to the sauna splits into three: one for a wet sauna on the left, and the dry sauna to the right. A third path down the middle leads to the supplies and furnaces for the saunas, because neither run on electricity, and require stones, fire (and water for the wet sauna). An ocular pop-up will list the benefits of each type of sauna, allowing you to make the best choice for your own health, as well as provide instructions on how to operate them and optimize the experience for your physiological needs.
Both saunas are rooms lined with wooden slats, and with multiple levels of seating available, seating ten people at most. At the corner of the rooms is a small tub of rocks heated by fire from a furnace accessible through the middle path. A wooden bucket is available to bring water into the wet sauna, to be poured onto the stones to provide the moisture for the sauna.
▶ PUBLIC BATH
Though the area is fully enclosed, attempts have been made to decorate the baths with natural elements, such as stones bordering the pools, bamboo water spouts, wooden slats lining the walls and windows that open up to a yard abundant with greenery, appropriately fenced off so no one can peek into the baths from the greenhouse area. The public baths are segregated by gender, a thick wooden fence dividing the two sides of the room so that communication is still possible, but view of the other side is obscured.
Each side features an area with stools, mirrors and seated showers that one can use to thoroughly rinse their bodies before entering the bath. Like the showers in the locker room, no soaps and shampoos are provided. However, fluffy, luxurious towels are stocked just outside the bathing area for use along with a hamper for their disposal, and the baths themselves seem to be on a biweekly rotation of additives, from scents like lavender and yuzu to herbal additions like mugwort or green tea, with one day each week free of any additives.
For those who prefer private bathing sessions, there are smaller rooms that can be reserved ahead of time using the ocular implant.
▶ MASSAGE PARLOR
The massage parlor is a room with ten massage beds, staffed by two robot massage therapists. It is a dimmed area with warm lighting and a diffuser spreading a calming scent throughout the area. Plenty of plants and landscape paintings decorate the area to provide a calming atmosphere. Each bed can be separated by a curtain for privacy.
Upon entry into the room, an ocular pop-up will appear asking you to select the type of massage preferred, if you need no robot assistance, or if you'd like a lesson in performing massages. It also offers a selection of specialty massage oils and aromatic blends which clients can choose based on their desired therapeutic effects.
For those receiving a massage from robotic massage therapists, the massage can be personalized through a digital touchpad at each bed. This touchpad allows clients to adjust the intensity and focus of the massage, select soothing soundscapes, and even set the area's ambient lighting to their preference.
For those who prefer even greater privacy, rooms are available for up to two people to receive a massage together. Perfect for couples!
▶ NAIL SALON
The nail salon is decorated similarly to the massage parlor, but there are no robot attendants staffing the area. Instead, an ocular pop-up will indicate that the salon is entirely unmanned, so it is up to Outsiders to provide manicures and pedicures to their fellow colleagues! All the appropriate stations and supplies have been provided, so the only limit is imagination!
The parlor is stocked with a wide array of high-tech nail polishes that change color based on temperature or mood, as well as glittering holographic powders and futuristic gel finishes that provide a dazzling array of effects including personal advertisements and minor cosmetic effects. Some examples of cosmetic effects include the temperature/mood-changing colors that can be as extreme or subtle as desired; the holographic depiction of shifting patterns or scenes, such as starry galaxies or futuristic cityscapes; or interactive haptic feedback, using embedded micro-sensors to simulate various sensations, such as a gentle vibrating pulse that matches a rhythm, or a mild tingle that responds to touch.
LILITH would like to remind you to avoid applying nails that become an impediment during kaiju missions.
▶ NOTES
Welcome to the first crowdfunded base upgrade!! Many thanks to Kia, Peace, Abbel, Blair, Ari, Steve, ly, and Lan who pooled points with me for this luxurious addition to the base. Also thanks to Pax for helping me with the text of this log.
The spa facility is a permanent add-on and will have an entry added to the Main Base page soon. Note that there will be no IC explanation for the use of reward points.
This post is meant to be a mingle log for all characters to enjoy the facility's services at the grand opening! If you have any questions about the spa, please ask them in the questions thread!

Yeah, vaguely. Reminds me of something, at least. Might more if it wasn't, y'know, and egg, but...
[ He does have a theory about it as a result, and it's an easy one to test. As he explains, he gives the egg a little flick. It's definitely not enough to harm it in any way, but he's just wanting to see if it reacts in any way. That might seem silly to expect of an egg, but that's just the oddity of this class of being, at least from his understanding. ]
It's complicated, but there are entities that don't exist in the typical understanding. Call 'em from another universe, higher dimension, whatever you want, but you could call them gods too, technically speaking. Even I've never met one, just know they exist, but there's rare cases where people can resonate with 'em. Reminds me of that, a little bit.
[ that's fine right ]
no subject
which is likely displayed in the interest he seems to show in the subject, his attention entirely focused on the god. ] That actually would make the most sense. [ if just because from his prior timeline, he knows enough magical beasts to compare, and figure it likely wasn't any of the ones he's directly came into contact with. ] We have them too where I'm from. [ gods. presumably some form of them from other dimensions, that is. it's the first time he's heard of someone else speaking of them, though. ]
You're pretty helpful. I'm surprised. [ why is acting shocked pika by this when he's technically helped hunt before, too... ]
no subject
However, his brief meditations on that are interrupted by that last comment. He sits back with a huff of a laugh and looks at Yuwon incredulously. ]
Why's that a surprise? You saw me helpin' out before, didn't ya?
[ He doesn't seem offended, at least, since generally speaking? Yeah, he's not exactly helpful. But he's had a bit more incentive to here so far. Or at least the whim to. ]
no subject
[ hunting, that is. it just so happened to align with what they were expected to do per the mission, and worked out for the outsiders intents and purposes to survive until supplies arrived. not yuwon discounting tez's efforts in his mind, even if he also is no different.
though, he did seem easygoing. for a god, that is.
as far as he knows most gods tended to be intense. whether it was in zeus' infinite desire to retain power for olympus, or even in how prone to fighting some of his old companions had been. either way, he seems to ruminate on this as he passes the egg another glance. ]
Do you usually act on a whim?
no subject
[ His emphasis on the word is almost playful, because he’s a little amused that Yuwon apparently understood him so quickly, especially with that follow-on question. It’s very reminiscent of Daybit, honestly, though his affect would be even flatter. ]
So, if that doesn’t answer your question, yeah. I do. I’m not a god with grand plans for the universe or shit like that, so what else is there but whim?
[ He leans back comfortably again, since his curiosity is… Well, it’s not satisfied with Yuwon’s egg, but it doesn’t seem like the guy has answers either. He’s at least not worried about it, even though perhaps he should be. ]
Plus, some chaos is a good thing. Keeps things fresh.
no subject
... and it seems this individual is no different in a sense. he catches himself falling into these thoughts and seems to shake out of it before a nostalgic smile could even touch his features. shaking it offf. ] You sound troublesome. [ casual call outs... ]
But, you made me think our worlds could have some similarities. [ maybe not in how it's set up, but the existence of gods, outer gods, and similar beings... ] I could imagine you in the Tower. [ is this a compliment...
it is in yuwon's head. ]
no subject
[ He confirms that with no hesitation or shame, then laughs, because Yuwon isn’t the only one feeling a bit nostalgic at the moment, as it turns out. ]
The guy that summoned me liked to remind me of that as much as possible. That and “you talk too much”, so no need to tell me that either.
[ Daybit truly suffered the most getting such an annoying Servant… At least Tezcatlipoca is competent, so long as it doesn’t involve guns. But even if some of Yuwon’s mannerisms remind him of Daybit, he’s not actually inclined to speak about him any further. So, without much of a beat, he nods to him. ]
What kinda place is this tower, exactly?
no subject
[ he says this to tez, despite there being absolutely nothing he's done to deserve it. but, listen... he knows his fair share of troublesome individuals, and he feels like they all pay an equal price in this somehow. also, it's clear that like son ohgong, this guy was equally unapologetic and without even a hint of remorse.
as for the second question. he may have not explained if tez himself hadn't been so forthcoming. hence— ] It was a place where multiple universes converged. People would gain stats and challenge each floor until they reach the top.
[ it was also a place with no shortage of conflict, but he doesn't say this... especially, when it isn't like all the events have necessarily come to pass yet.
not webtoons.... ]
no subject
No, in reality, he just laughs again, low and amused. The criticism so clearly bounces right off him, like he's heard these exact words before, maybe many times, and he's also someone that refuses to take it to heart. ]
Pretty bold to say that to a god, don't ya think? What if I had smiting powers, huh?
[ He wouldn't use them, to be fair. He's really not that kind of god, but he does feel a prickle of challenge at being criticized. But since he's still fairly fresh from one case of his implant giving him a reminder to behave, he (begrudgingly) doesn't act on it. Besides. He's here to rest a bit, right? That's important too. ]
Sounds like an interesting place, at least. You prefer that gig or this one?
no subject
[ if he cut out all inklings of engaging with gods, all his goals and objectives would have fell to the waste side. unfortunately, he doesn't seem to even show a hint of apprehension. just as resolute as always, even if its colored in his usual apathy. ]
That one. [ it's not that the reality of here hasn't settled in the months he's been here, but could the time he spent here compared to the hundreds of years in the tower? ] Not because it's easier. What about you?
no subject
[ He does seem genuinely pleased by it, even if that’s probably a little odd… But then again, of course a god of conflict would be pleased by people who were bold enough to stand up to him. That kind of friction is exactly what he wants to see in people. It’s just also a good thing that he doesn’t exactly have the same level of power that he usually does, lest he exert it just to intensify things… ]
Can’t blame ya for preferring that one. Not that I’ve been here all that long, but the competition in yours is more up my alley than the cooperation here.
[ He shrugs, then laughs as his answer comes easily. ]
So, yeah. Same for me. Home’s got way more of an extinction level event on its hands, and I wanna see how it turns out. But also have to say, this world is more fun for me. I’ve never gotten to just hang out this way before. There’s value in that.
no subject
Yeah, I never had this much downtime before, either. Not sure if I could call it a real break though. [ he also doesn't like the idea of working under another power, but he does comprehend that they're all awarded a decent amount of freedom all things considered. ] Going back to what you said—
You said extension level event, but what was that like? [ he has to wonder if all worlds have some sort of large-scaled event like that. he supposes the towers version of that would be in the future with the outer gods. maybe it's because of that fact that he discovers himself impossibly curious about what that looks like in tez's world. ]
no subject
However, it’s not a thought he lingers on, since to his surprise, Yuwon returns to the grim topic. His expression shifts again, but it’s much more like he’s thinking about an annoyance rather than cataclysm. ]
…That’s a long, complicated answer.
[ because it’s type-moon bullshit and even he knows it!!!! ]
Short version? Could call it a god, could call it an alien invader, but they wiped out the surface of the Earth and everything on it, pretty much. Just bleached it clean in a day or so. Time gets weird around all of that, so I'm not completely sure on that part of things, but was fast is the point.
no subject
That sounds rough, but I think I can understand it. [ it really did sound sickeningly similar to an outer god. whether this is in power, or... ] Did you figure out its purpose? [ why earth specifically, akin to how he had to question why the outer gods felt the need to invade the tower. ]
no subject
[ He waves a hand idly, though it might as well be for both things here. He’ll take the praise, but Yuwon’s question is very reasonable to come out of it. It’s also one he can’t exactly answer. ]
I know what it’s up to, yeah. Or, I guess more accurately, I can see what kinda results it’s possible for it to obtain, since I can perceive the future. All of ‘em. But you’ll also have to just take my word for it, since I can’t exactly disclose what they are. Ereshkigal and Izou, they’re both from my world, and can’t exactly have them hearing about it and trying to change it.
no subject
you can almost see the distinct moment in which that words entirely loses him. from context, he wonders if it's just related to the phenomenon they're experiencing in the world by their version of outer gods... either way, if tez has the intention of brushing it off, he'd also go along.
while yuwon was curious, it's not like he particularly enjoyed prying information out of someone who clearly didn't want to explain. (if just because he's also like that). but, what really shocks him more than that is... ] You can see the future? Is it the Eyes of Foreknowledge?
[ is the only comparison he can think of. he's interested if just because...
it's something he's personally been aiming to acquire. but, also? ] I didn't know you come from the same place as Ereshkigal and Izou. [ but, he comprehends what he means about the future and divulging this information to others as he's also sort of been there, though not exactly in the same fashion.
perhaps, him being a god wasn't just for show. ]
no subject
Nah. Haven’t heard that term before, but I know that’s not quite it. Should say can usually see the future, but LILITH couldn’t quite grab that one, not that I’m surprised. Being able to see the threads of destiny is just something I was made for. Someone has to have an idea of how to keep the world on track, right?
[ Though when it comes to his “friends” from Chaldea… He wishes he could smoke in here. So, in lieu of that, he reaches down to grab the ladle and pour on a fresh scoop of water to make more steam. ]
Strictly speaking, those two are my enemies. They feel more strongly about it than I do, though.
[ Even from just how casually he says it, it’s clear that’s an understatement… ]
Also pretty sure they’re from earlier in time than I am, so I’m on a strict “no spoilers” policy for those two. They gotta experience what’s ahead. No cheating.
no subject
Something like that existed in the Tower, too. A bit more complicated, though. The future isn't easy to discern, and if you made a mistake, it could cost you. [ if people weren't careful, they could end up like mimir, for example, inevitably riddled with the curse of knowledge. if tez could use some form of it without any real detriment to his body's condition, then it was impressive to say in the least. ] So it sounds like your skill may be better.
[ in regards to the other two outsiders, however— ] If they see you as an enemy, you must have done something to deserve it. [ he says plainly, as if this were all his fault somehow. ]
Are you doing that to keep order, or because you think it's entertaining?
no subject
[ And he’s not surprised that humanity would want the ability, since really, it’s much more valuable to them than it is him. Their lives are so short and fleeting that being able to steer through your future more deftly would be invaluable. But it’s all theoretical. In practice, he’s sure it wouldn’t work that way. It’s one of those things that’s just beyond human comprehension, when it came down to it.
It’s part of why he happily moves on. Even if he could discuss the concept with Yuwon for himself, it’s still a philosophical, theoretical conversation, and he prefers the grounded ones.
…Plus, it’s more entertaining, so Yuwon really seems to have his number. ]
Can’t it be both?
[ He snickers with a sly grin as he answers the question with another. If it leans more strongly to one side or the other, that reaction definitely makes it feel like its his whim first… ]
Definitely deserve it. Have no complaints with that. They’re not exactly wrong to want to take my buddy Daybit out, and I’m part of that. They’re just missing pieces of the overall puzzle. But also it’s not really their thing to learn. It’s the person they’re working for that’s gotta come to a revelation. Or not. Either way, we’ll duke it out eventually.
no subject
including the ones on tez himself. except, there's no real relief or sense of satisfaction in pinning this down. if anything, he simply takes it as a fact to watch out for moving forward. there's a touch of a sigh that escapes him, however. especially as he ends up leaning back, settling his egg on his lap. the humidity wasn't uncomfortable yet, but it definitely was finally begin to settle on his skin without his equipment on. ]
Sure, but in the future if anything comes up, be sure to keep me out of it.
[ he says with a shrug. despite saying that, he has no doubt these words will one day come to bite him in the ass. just like his fleeting interest in the god's stories. ] I'd say knowing all the pieces is a burden in and of itself. Normally. [ that's how he felt at least. ] If it hasn't burned you that way then you're already pretty lucky, so try not to push it.
[ izou and eresh were strong, too. though, that does seem to beg the question if this man was stronger? staring at tez now... ]
How do you compare strength wise?
no subject
Normally? Would wipe the floor with either of them. Easy.
[ There’s a straightforward confidence in the statement that’s a little chilling. It doesn’t give the impression of arrogance so much as stating a simple, obvious fact. And in their world? It is that simple. ]
Here, though… We’re more evened out, so they’d have a better chance. Don’t have my big guns, so to speak. Ereshkigal is going to be closer to my level than Izou, since she’s divine too, but I’m also guessing that she’s missing some of the peaks of her power too. I’d assume I’m still the strongest, but really would only find out if we were seriously tryin’ to kill each other, you know?
[ Though by how casually he says that, he’s not opposed to finding out, clearly. ]
no subject
That strong? Makes me feel a bit disappointed you held yourself back so much.
[ it’s not meant to diminish his previous display, but yuwon also displays a similar kind of confidence, as if he had every right to weigh and judge how strong tez was. ]
Surprised no one has seriously tried to challenge you here. Not sure if it’s common in your world, but back where I am from, people would often fight with everything they had. Or maybe I just had annoying guys lingering around me.
[ it’s often easy for yuwon to keep the fondness out of his voice, and to keep his usual sense of disinterest and apathy. however, it’s admittedly a bit harder when he genuinely feels them when he remembers his past in the tower. still, he continues— ]
What about trying with me sometime?
no subject
On the contrary. That Gojo guy, we had a tussle as soon as I got here, basically. But still can’t go all out, exactly. [ He taps the side of his head with his index finger. ] I guess I get it, but LILITH has a problem with us havin’ real fights. I’m all for fighting with everything you’ve got, but that should mean offerin’ your life up as a part of it too.
[ It goes both ways, since he’d accept a loss gracefully, even at the cost of his own life. Though it does help that “death” isn’t a concept that applies to him as strongly. Or at least, that’s what he believes. If he dies here, that’s no big deal. This is just a facet of a larger whole with how his existence works. ]
But. If you don’t mind that, I’m always down for a fight. Real skill only comes through experience.
1/2
yuwon makes a face, if just because he can't say he's particularly surprised. while yuwon doesn't necessarily emote dramatically, the shift in his expression seems to make his thoughts obvious enough in the moment. ]
no subject
I think the same. You can't really assess skills just by watching. [ in turn, yuwon also displays a casual sense of self-assurance. there's no real doubt to his words, and despite the usual neutrality to his voice, he does crack the smallest hint of amusement. as if he may have been looking forward to it. ]
Just don't regret saying yes. I'd hate to beat up on you if you were planning to retire here.
[ not the battle dialogue... ]
