[She crosses her legs as she takes another bite out of snack #1 out of [unknown number]. Her eyes do move around the room as the ideas on room decor pop into her head.]
As much as I would love planning that with you, I guess we got other stuff to talk about too, huh?
[Where to even start... Well, she can let Dante decide that.]
no subject
[Because when are things ever really simple for any of them, much less in a whole new place like this?]
< How have things been for you lately? I know I've missed a lot, but I get the feeling that I'm missing something that might be out of the ordinary even for here. >
[So they want to see how Rodya's been navigating it.]
no subject
Things been rougher than usual, but I'll manage. Trying to pick pieces up and make plans with my friends so we don't stick in the dumps for too
long.
[The world doesn't slow down for mourners after all. Then again, maybe it's because she actually has time to process death here unlike the City that things sting harder than normal. She's still trying to keep most (if not all) of the baggage in and let it rot away until it disappears.]
Everyone got hit hard from the last mission. Still feeling exhausted from it, lost good folks back there... Some folks got hit the hardest.
[like Ishmael.]
no subject
[They know Ishmael was, but she'd said he was something of a pillar to others here too.]
no subject
[Kinda like her... But she won't say that out loud.]
Of course, some guys tend to butt heads with him and he would snark back. [Like Yuwon...] But overall, he really was like a pillar to everyone.
no subject
< That's what Ishmael said. Are you... doing all right? I know you said something about not staying down for too long, but... >
[But she always holds things in.]
< We're somewhere private and it's just me, so if there's anything you've been wanting to get off your chest about it all... >
no subject
The wrapper of the snack crinkles as she slowly curls her hand into a fist, holding it as she thinks until a minute passes and it slowly uncurls.]
I don't know... I'm not the one with the dead boyfriend here, Dante.
no subject
< No, you're not. But I still want to hear it. Your voice matters too, Rodya. >
no subject
[Or her neighbors. The cold air is the same, but maybe there is a different feel to it. It's hard to tell if there is any change to it for her, but she's talking out... Or trying to, at least. Something instead of nothing, even if discomfort and anxiety are showing it's signs.
A thought does click in her head, letting out a heavy sigh.]
Sorry. Hard enough to talk out and harder to get the right words out. [She would add an "I'm trying." to her sentence, but she didn't. Time to dig for another snack, shoving her trash into the back of the bag.] Of course his death stings me like it does on everyone else. And we got extra time to let it sink in instead of getting tossed to our next job and we had to worry about what's in front of us now. Even when us from the City are so used to death...
[A pause as she lets the cold sink into her some more.]
Am I ever going to be all right, Dante? Maybe one day... It's hard to say how I feel right now when it's a whole mix of things.
no subject
They hadn't expected any answer at all.
Rodya was always so good at evading their questions, deflecting or changing the subject in such a way that Dante sometimes wouldn't even realize they were talking about something else until part of the way through the conversation. A winter chill with snow-heavy clouds hanging overhead, never allowed to fall... now touching the earth, if only a little.
She's changed, Dante thinks, And for a moment, despite the grim topic at hand, despite their lack of expression, they wish they could smile for her.]
< That's natural, I think. Both not knowing how to put your feelings into words and feeling them even when you know they won't help. I wish I could tell you how to work through them, but that's not an answer I have either. >
[How could they, without any memories to draw from, when the death of those they're closest to has always been a turn of the clock away?]
< But for what it's worth, I do think you're going to be all right. Maybe not right now, but some day, just like you said. This conversation's proof enough of that. >
no subject
Mm. Thanks.
[She means it even if it doesn't look like it.]
There were some times where I opened up a little and people reacted badly so... It makes me want to step back even if I want to go forward.
no subject
[It's such a simple statement that they worry it sounds too, well, simple. Juvenile. But it's true. Even if their pain was mostly physical in nature, there was always some part of them that tensed and braced itself before they turned the clock.]
< It sounds to me like you found something that made it worth taking those steps. >
no subject
[She doesn't turn back towards Dante, her gaze locked in on the things in front of her as her hands sort through each snack. A small smile grows on her lips as she is trying to navigate back towards a warmer side. A light snow fall can continue, but she would like the sun to shine out of the clouds a little bit. She doesn't want to stick into doom and gloom for too long for both her sake and everyone else's sake.]
I actually have control over my cash and I can go out and do whatever I like as long as I don't break LILITH's rules too much. Go eat something new, gamble, shopping, or check out a corner of this city that I haven't seen yet. I made some new friends and... [She lets out a laugh.] Maybe something else too.
no subject
[They sit up a bit straighter, surprised. Had everyone who'd arrived here from Limbus Company found someone? Even...
...No. They're pretty sure just thinking along those sorts of lines in his general direction is going to land them a "consultation" of their own.]
< Congratulations! Or good job? I'm not sure which one I'm supposed to say in this kind of situation, but... I'm happy for you. >
[They shift in their spot on the bed, turning to sit at an angle so they can face her better.]
< So who's the lucky guy? >
no subject
Look at you figuring some things out! Proud of you~
[Even if she couldn't help but to tease Dante a little bit, that reaction was a little cute. How could she not?]
You'll meet Yuwon eventually. He's on the same team as you are... He has his quirks and can be frustrating at times, but he ain't a bad guy.
no subject
< Vergilius did tell me to meet with the people on my team... Guess this is all the more reason to do so. >
no subject
[With both Vergilius and Ishmael in Brimstone and herself in Redemption, there is a bit of concern over Dante if Revelation is separated from them, but it's just the usual Sinner sense. She opens up a bag of chips and pops one of them in her mouth.]
If you wanna meet some of my friends, I can introduce you.
no subject
[Getting to know people here while learning about the people Rodya's come to care about... Yeah. They'd like that a lot.]
< Oh, and... have you ever said anything about me to them? N-Not that you should have. I just don't want them to be... you know. > [They gesture to their head] < Surprised. >
no subject
[A pause.]
Okay, don't get mad over this, but I had to tell Yuwon about corrosions and distortions because Ishy and I had to use our E.G.O. several times during some fights plus with last mission and Wriothesley... We don't know if that can happen here yet, but the risk was there and tons of us were worried over Ishmael.
no subject
< I'm not mad about it, especially since it makes sense in that case. > [Though they're not happy about it either, given that they're all supposed to be keeping that sort of thing on the down low.] < ...Oh! >
[Realization hits with the chime of a cash register as Dante immediately sits up straight. Rodya and Ishmael wouldn't know.]
< It might not come up that often since you two are on different teams from me, but... How often are you guys using E.G.O., anyway? >
no subject
[Which she has certainly did corrode in the past and given Dante's next question.... Her eyes avert away as she scratches her cheek.]
A good amount, but it's fine! We've been totally careful on not going overboard~ [says the one who was in red shoes mode in the last mission.]
no subject
< That wasn't what I... >
[Considering who else is here and what he's said, there's only one good question to judge the situation with]
< Has Vergilius gotten on you guys about it? >
no subject
[Being on seperate things does help keep things away from Vergilius's radar, but she doesn't intently get on his bad side outside of her usual teasing and jabs.]
I'm still alive, aren't I? Didn't kill off anyone by accident so it's fine.
[She's not going to mention on how she was mostly alone fighting the vampires in the last mission. She knew the risks yet she still put on those red shoes. Maybe her actions made a difference. Maybe it didn't.]
no subject
< That's good enough for me then. >
[They'll wait to experience the missions for themselves after all.]
< But that isn't what I was going to bring up. I learned something new recently, and I should be able to power your E.G.O. attacks up with it. >
[If LILITH messing with their head didn't do anything to it. For some reason the possibility of slowing down time seems so far away as to be unreachable.]
no subject
[Dante is changing as well, huh... Also it's a nice break that the conversation seemed to shifted to less focus on herself.]
Wonder what other kind of powers you are gonna get down the road... Anyways when did ya learn that power? Last thing I remembered was heading towards the WARP train ride...
[She is not going to mention about the Timekilling Time case and hopefully Dante won't either!!!]
