DOWNTIME MINGLE #8
DOWNTIME MINGLE #8
▶ 001. WINNER'S CIRCLE
In light of everyone's recent help with both the ocean exploration and the clinical trials, the Outsiders will return one day to a surprisingly well-decorated area within the mess hall at the Kyoto base. It's been adorned with some of the flowers that have wildly bloomed on the outskirts of the city in various areas, as well as those that the researchers had been personally working on fostering in the LILITH greenhouses. Beneath it will be not a pizza party for once, and charcuterie and other donated food items will be there for Outsiders to enjoy. There is even some recognizable cuisine from Egypt for them as well!
While Neo Tokyo has always been noted as being a city of technology (even with their dwindling resources), a new trend of collecting swords has sparked in the city. Maybe they've seen it in certain Outsiders, but the idea of both collecting swords, displaying them, or even holding exhibitions for them have become more common. Some have even taken to hunting for them in the wild.
If any Outsiders are interested, there appears to be several posts online in which they think older blades may be laying in sleep. But, as with most rumors, there's no guarantee it isn't a wild goose chase.
On TV, the new spring line up is out. A new live action series featuring a group of friends who fight kaiju using mecha has made its debut. Their mecha are animal themed and can combine to create a super mecha. The new lead is a hot headed female character with a lion mecha, which spawns a line of action figures in stores across the city. The lion mecha is the most popular and often resold online for inflated prices. Maybe an Outsider can get their hands on one without paying the scalping fee?
Oftentimes when it comes to the Outsiders and the general masses, there's a distinct disconnect. Which is why it all seems to hinge on rumors and hearsay. Who knows where the information stems from, but they heard a certain Outsider has a liking for bread. There will be no shortage of bread sponsorships for the base, though... some may be far more experimental. However, some claim lab-grown bread may actually be tastier? Only one way to put it to the test. The lab-grown bread conveniently also comes in cans.
GOOD JOB:Thanks to the Outsiders’ hard work, they are met with positive reception by the general public, which seems to have grown astronomically since the past two missions. This has only grown from their recent success abroad. Per usual, there are a few oddities that have caught on in the city.

▶ 002. FROM SUMER WITH LOVE.
Around the same time, a few LILITH employees show signs of a common cold – nothing noteworthy at first really, if only out-of-season. But then the disease starts spreading at an alarming rate within the headquarters, its symptoms evolving from a mere cold to a severe life-threatening flu. Preliminary analysis reveals the disease to be unlike any known on this planet – perhaps this is why no medicines work. Symptoms include chest pain, trouble breathing, nausea, excessive vomiting and diarrhea, chills and high fever.
To make matters worse, news from LILITH locations around the world reveal all known bases to be afflicted by the same mysterious epidemic, only affecting LILITH staff and not Outsiders at this time. This cannot be a coincidence: LILITH is under attack.. but how is something like this possible?
As researchers race to try and understand the disease, LILITH will request everyone to quarantine themselves on base for the safety of the public. Gradually, the disease spreads across the base only for tests to reveal: the Outsiders are left unaffected.
As the month progresses, more and more of LILITH’s employees find themselves bedridden with the deadly disease until by the 30th of May, only Outsiders are left standing and healthy; all the LILITH crew has been affected. The civilian population outside the base is safe for now, but for how long? Unless something is done, it is estimated all humans working for LILITH will be dead by late June.

Seok Dang tried to stay on the line, but all that was heard was gut-wretching vomiting, to which SYNTHIA promptly cuts his connection. Sorry about that.
It is up to the Outsiders to find the source of the disease and resolve the crisis before all hope is lost. Is this somehow related to those Outsiders who recently disappeared? Wait, aren’t there a few Outsiders here who have seen this flu before and can recognize it…?

"Greetings, my children. Worry not. I come here to report some concerning news: both Captain Yamakawa and Commander Shiro have fallen gravely ill. Since I am an A.I assistant, my health is optimal. Seok Dang has also fallen ill, though he is still in denial of it. I will do my best to take care of each and every one of— "
"BULLSHIT!! This is nothing! I've had hangovers worse than this, you hear me? Calm your terabyte-tits, bitch. I'm here. There ain't nothin' that is gonna stop me, in fact, with the higher ups feelin' like shit, that would put me in command, right? W-Wait, hold that thought, I.. feel like I'm gonna throw up."

▶ 003. LIVIN' LA VIDA LOCKDOWN.
While everyone is quarantined on base, they are encouraged to communicate with each other through the network. During this time, they can do research, share ideas, and try to figure out what is happening as the disease spreads across base and around the world.
While they are in lock down, LILITH encourages the Outsiders to pick up some new hobbies and interests to keep themselves active. They will have access to various workout videos. Some of the videos are hosted by cyborg coaches that expect Outsiders to do things with their bodies that probably aren't physically possible. Other Outsiders might get simple ovens and jars of suspicious "starters" to bake. Of course, there are other hobbies like growing miniature artificial plants, board games, virtual reality games, and more to keep them interested while they're trapped inside!
After about a week, when it becomes obvious the Outsiders are unaffected, they will be allowed to leave their rooms and roam freely to assist. LILITH does not understand why they are not affected but they are depending on the Outsiders for help now more than ever.
Though they are free to wander and seem to be immune for the time being, LILITH warns if they experience any cold-like symptoms, they should report their status and quarantine immediately.

▶ 004. AFTERWORD + SPECIAL NOTE.
Welcome to May's downtime mingle! All tags on this log are worth 2 points.
The June Event is a player plot that is going to differ from regular events in a few ways: Outsiders have to find the location for the next Kaiju fight on their own using hints given in the From Sumer With Love prompt, and correlating them with the past and ongoing disappearance of various Outsiders. They can use LILITH’s equipment to look for anomalies across the globe, however there is not enough time to scan or contact every region in the world. Outsiders need to guess where the anomaly likely is before they can get confirmation. There is a PLOTTING post for this event over here.
Furthermore, they will have to reach this destination through their own means as there is no LILITH staff left to fly them there. Vehicles can be requisitioned, but will have to be flown by Outsiders on their own. This also means Outsiders are free to stay behind at the base if they prefer, as nobody will force them to go. Pain-relieving medicines can also be developed if the true nature of the disease is found and the appropriate characters work on it, though nothing short of defeating the anomaly will solve this crisis and save everyone.
Last but not least: this event will have two Kaiju battles, one on each log as well as many different challenges the Outsiders will have to solve on their own if they want to save LILITH and bring home their missing friends! Please use this thread to ask questions and offer your proposals as to what the Outsiders should do (location guessing, transport, etc). Proposals made in this thread will affect the first and second prompts of the first log.

EVENT BREAKDOWN/RECAP (CLICK TO EXPAND)
1. WINNER'S CIRCLE: The heavy hitters/KO winners of the last kaiju fight receive their sponsorships and inspire new trends, including an interest in collecting swords, a new live action series (like Power Rangers), and free bread.
2. FROM SUMER WITH LOVE: A mysterious disease spreads across LILITH's bases. The symptoms are like the common cold/flu but much more severe. There is currently no cure. Outsiders seem to be immune to the disease. After quarantining, they are encouraged to investigate and come up with plans for the battle to come.
3. LIVIN' LA VIDA LOCKDOWN: While on lockdown, Outsiders are encouraged to try some new hobbies. They can also communicate through the network and do research to uncover additional clues and come up with more plans.

is there a rough amount that outsiders were paid for the kaiju kill back in egypt? 🥺

Is anyone at LILITH available to test whether or not those who've vanished so far were indeed taken by rifts? IE, can they detect if there is a rift energy signature where we we have an exact location from where they vanished? (Like Tsurumaru or Godzilla)

2) less of a question but more of a note that Hunter would help take care of them.... even Seok Dang

1. I asked here but it goes a bit beyond the scope of the plot so I'm asking what the situation in Alexandria is. Would you consider it a LILITH base to be affected by Ereshkigal's disease? Could someone on the other end help manage the warp portals for characters to hop over?
2. If not, could Synthia hack their system to enable warping?
3. For LILITH vehicles, can they autodrive/pilot to help characters get over?

Bakugō Katsuki 💥 Boku no Hero Academia 💥 Everlight
▶ 001. WINNER'S CIRCLE.
💥 ➊ WIN's O. - Charcuterie
[While Tokyo's home base continues to buzz, bustle, clank, and grow as its repairs progress ever forward, it means the Outsiders are still left in the Kyoto base for the time being as their usual operations. No going back "home" yet. A rush of celebration and good will towards the Outsiders' victory in Egypt should have felt amazing. So much was actually done right in their endeavors! They successfully routed the sleeping danger, they sought out the kaiju first, and they finally took the battle to the beast without sacking a city for its arriving attack!
... But for all their success, they left a comrade behind. It wasn't a complete, undisputed 100% victory. Bakugo's irritated expression (more so than normal) reflects in a window, a glare aimed at nothing and no one. Fingers lazily stab a tiny two-pronged fork into a plate of assorted charcuterie offerings. Meats, cheeses, fruits, each piece skewered at random and brought to his mouth. How the hell could they not have noticed?! Ereshkigal wasn't an easily-missed person. They had to have done a headcount, they wouldn't just LEAVE without knowing all of their numbers were accounted for! Even Wriothesley was brought back with them, and he was fucking dead!
And now more and more Outsiders are disappearing. Ratio, Godzilla, Tsurumaru... What the hell happened? Who the fuck's responsible for this? Bad enough the goddamn Vegas worm started siren calling people into the desert, then the Romania wolf straight up stole Outsiders from their fucking beds! Brooding and not in the party mood, Bakugo's likely better off in his room rather than radiating ire by the window at a party, but alas... this is where he is. Come say hi?]
💥 ➋ WIN's O. - Public Heroes
[As he grew up, Bakugo dreamed of being a famous hero! His face on all the merchandise, interviews and screenings, people knowing his name and cheering with smiles whenever he showed up, wealth and glory to his name forever! He had so many plans for how amazing and awesome a hero he would be, plotted it out in notebooks, drew it on papers, told all his friends as they wandered the woods and talked their childish talk of future fame.
Things change when you grow up. It starts with having your quiet moment on the train interrupted by a face suddenly leaning over your shoulder to confirm recognition. It escalates with random people pointing you out in the crowd and vocally pinning you with a notable story or action. Soon you can't even have lunch outside without some asshole recognizing you and wanting to have an autograph or trying to sneak a picture or whispering about you at their table! WHEN THE HELL DID FAME AND FORTUNE SUDDENLY BECOME A MASSIVE PAIN IN THE FUCKING ASS?! HOW TO PRO HEROES PUT UP WITH THIS SHIT ALL THE TIME?!]
STOP CHASING ME, YOU GODDAMN SHITTY FREAKS!!
[Dynamiiight~! You're so coool~!
Ooooy! I'm your hugest fan!
Can I get your number? Please call me!
I just want a picture! Wait up!
I LOVE YOU~! BE WITH ME!!]
FUCKING DIE!!
[These fanboys and fangirls are fucking nuts!! Help him out? Or maybe not, since you're just as likely to get caught up in this swarming swam of fanning fans.]
▶ 002. FROM SUMER WITH LOVE.
💥 ➊ SUMER ♡. - The Boss is Sick
[What the fuck is this?! On top of the Outsiders disappearing, now LILITH workers are starting to get sick? Initially Bakugo thought little of the reports. So what? A summer cold is passing around the proverbial office. While the top brass of LILITH has always remained mostly locked away inside their secure fortress, there are plenty of LILITH techs going in and out of those areas even off limits to the Outsiders. One of them could've easily caught sick and brought it inside. With all of them cooped up in there, no shit it's gonna take off and run rampant.
But... that was only the start. More reports come out, more illness. A summer cold's the fringe case. Bakugo leans over the desk in the Kyoto base, eyes narrowed on the reports and printouts. The Outsiders aren't contacting anything, neither are the civilians.]
How the hell is it only targeting a single organization? [Anyone around him can hear his irritated voice. Concerned? Of course he's not concerned! What are you, crazy?! But while he has a testy truce with LILITH, he's a hero, and he doesn't wish these people to die or wallow in misery. Execution aside, their hearts are in the right place.] Viruses don't check your fucking job id badge. Someone or something is directing it. LILITH is the premier force opposing the kaiju. Taking them out means the world falls. Whatever's doing this knows that.
▶ 003. LIVIN' LA VIDA LOCKDOWN.
💥 ➊ LOCKDOWN. - Quarantine 1
[Great. Another slammed door and locked cage. Bakugo hates being cooped up for whatever fucking reason. He as a bear as a child whenever he (very rarely) got sick, obstinately refusing his illness and need for rest. Injuries turn into nightmares as doctors try to keep him in bed or bandaged. And medical safety induced incarcerations aren't gonna do any better! ... At least he knows how to keep himself entertained and busy while stuck in the base.
1) Cooking - It's not secret Bakugo's one of the best cooks among the Outsiders. Since the start, he's mostly cooked his own meals, preferring that over the cafeteria or restaurants. The sound of chopping permeates the kitchen as he works, effectively using a unique gift he received earlier this month. While Bakugo's able to use his right arm now, it's mobility is extremely limited and strength severely lacking. His knife speed hasn't slowed down any even in his left hand, effortlessly slicing potatoes, carrots, ginger, and peppers into thin discs. A pot of simmering miso stock sits beside him on the burner, with a chunk of meat thawing nearby for shaving slices once he's done with the vegetables. Soup to ward off the cold, that's what this is. Care to help?
2) Planting - He doubts this running illness is going to be cured by a bunch of anesthetic and analgesic plants, but that's no reason not to continue his current hobby. With spring in full swing, Bakugo had been able to go on a number of his outside-the-city sojourns to locate and collect pain-relieving plants from various locations. Did you go with him on one of these? Great! Now you can help him plant and cultivate the sapplings or seeds from their previous gatherings. Bakugo sits at a workbench in the base greenhouse, shucking dirt into multiple small pots with clean, measured scoops of a spade. A collection of seeds and small plants sit nearby, ready for their new home to grow. Look, he's not a huge green thumb, but working in the greenhouse is at least quiet.
3) Training - Lockdown doesn't mean he's left to rot. The Kyoto base still retains is own training facility, even if it's somewhat jury rigged compared to the simulation training in Neo Tokyo. Anyone passing by the area might not be surprised to see Bakugo working within its field. Weight clank with each repetition, sweat drips as he sits up on a mat or pulls up to a bar, explosions fire off as he bounces between one blast after another, punches and kicks slam a hanging sandbag to an fro with each harsh connection, and occasional swishes of a sword or bangs of a gun see him practicing his swordsmanship and marksmanship on occasion. Catch him in the middle of a break, towel around his neck and water bottle to his lips, or if you're engaging him in a training round... prepare yourself. Bakugo doesn't take it easy on people wanting to train with him.
4) Car Wash - He drove them through the Imugi's destruction of Neo Tokyo's base. He's used them to ferry supplies around Kyoto. Hell, he was driving them all the way back during the excavation of Disney's underground lab after all that shit went down. Bakugo's resolutely refused to allow LILITH to further modify his body, but the proverbial points put down for his motorcycle and car have been well worth it this entire time. Currently both of them are parked within the outskirts of the base parking lot, glistening in the sun as he sweeps the hose spray back and forth across them. Four big buckets of soapy water line up as soldiers waiting for the grab, more cleaning fluid in bottles sitting on a small folding chair nearby. Bakugo's doffed everything except a pair of weathered black jean shorts and a black tank top before cracking his knuckles in preparation. Hey, if you wanna help him wash his vehicles, thanks!]
💥 ➋ LOCKDOWN. - Quarantine 2
[OOC: Use this as a wildcard space to find Bakugo around the base and do whatever. Study, chat, decorate, treat injuries, blow up trash, he'll be a little more amiable to engaging in stuff due to the lockdown.]
▶ 004. CLOSED STARTERS.
💥 ➊ YATO. - Are you two dat-
[Tch, doesn't matter how many other events or memories come with palm trees and sand, Katsuki's never gonna completely be able to shake that damn experience with Yato in the tropical-themed love hotel a few weeks ago. Look, even if you're friends with someone, getting shacked up "accidentally" in a shitty love hotel is awkward as fuck! Especially because it makes people who don't know any better think things they shouldn't be fucking thinking! Like the damn receptionist at the hotel, giving them a little wink with a pink face when they left. Goddammit, Katsuki wanted to slam an explosion into her face and put her through the wall. Hands in his pockets, usual grumpy slouched posture, he stalks beside Yato. Destination: grocery store. Current problem: ... a shadowy figure ducking behind a trash can a few people's length behind them.]
We're being followed. What the fuck'd you do, Bakami?
💥 ➋ DENJI. - This is mine now.
[Sunset. A reddish gold disc slowly melting through wiggling haze towards the horizon, casting rosy gilding orange all over the world. Fire cracks and snaps within a ring of stones, interjecting with the more rhythmic breathing crash of waves lapping at the shore of Lake Biwa. No, it's not their still-postponed beach-side sleepover they've been planning, but it's a time to get out and leave the damn base behind for some fresh air. Away from all the talk of sick LILITH operators and the worry about missing Outsider teammates. Bakugo pulls back a skewer from the fire and passes the marshmallow on the end of it to Denji. He's never been one for s'mores. Sticky gooey treats full of sweet sugar. That's why he's got a few pieces of shrimp twisting around on another skewer. Cookouts are kinda fun, since he likes going to Korean barbecues and hotpot restaurants where you get to cook your own food. Spending some alone time with Denji is always comforting. Bakugo's car rests behind them on a patch of sand near the beach ramp, making for an easy transport and some privacy if they want it. He's only dressed in a pair of black and orange swimtrunks with a skull on the side, a previous swim's lake water now having dried off a while ago thanks to the fire heat.]
Che. That centipede bastard's Quirk wouldn't stand up to your chainsaws. I broke them just by slamming him into a wall.
[Albeit after they withstood one of his explosions, buuut... Denji didn't ask about that.]
[OOC: If you would like a personal starter for any ideas or plots we discussed, or want to look into Bakugo's welcome post for other potentials, send me a PM or drop a comment here and we'll hash out a good starting point! Otherwise, feel free to jump into any of these prompts or make up one of your own if none work for you, and we'll go from there!]
no subject
What is a big deal though is having someone specifically target him and Katsuki. He had a stalker once, a while ago, and he had to have Hiyori and Yukine help him deal with it. This time, though, he's not sure what to do, given he doesn't have Yukine here to use the full extent of his powers.
So while there's definitely somebody (he's assuming it's not a thing, hopefully) lurking behind them, he glances nervously from Katsuki to the shadowy figure behind them, trying not to shiver. Instead, he tugs at his scarf and wishes he'd brought a weapon. Or even a baseball bat. Something with which he can defend himself. At least Katsuki is always armed thanks to his explosions.]
Me? I didn't do a damn thing! Honest!
[All the same, he inches a little closer to Katsuki; whether it's out of protectiveness or fear is tough to tell.]
Should we make a break for it? Or do you wanna try facing off against them?

THE FORGE. ota. any time after 5/10.
The forge sits in a far corner of the Kyoto base, distanced from the other buildings. From a distance, the details seem fuzzy, the image distorted by the barrier's transparent hemisphere of power extending out in all directions from the structure.
Up close, the barrier becomes even harder to see, until it ripples gently like a stone disturbing the glassy surface of a still lake when someone steps through. The ambient power is hard to detect but welcoming—a steady undercurrent of mana that fills the air and makes each breath more efficient. Perhaps even restorative? Visitors who make it over the threshold will also realize that it feels safe and peaceful inside, regardless of the noise happening outside the safe perimeter and whatever is protecting the forge doesn't stop the spring breeze from tugging at clothes and hair, promising rain and the eventual heat of summer.
The structure itself is relatively small, with the main workshop adjoining a converted outbuilding in a traditional style, with a wide veranda and a gently sloping roof protecting the walkway and sliding screen doors from the rain. A small woodshed is full of a small mountain of stark black charcoal, waiting to be cut into usable pieces, and a pile of scrap metal (rusty nails, old bike chains, stolen rebar from abandoned buildings, damaged drone plating, broken LILITH-issued blades, and an entire driveshaft from an old car that you shouldn't ask about) sits under a tarp behind the woodshed, waiting to be melted down.
First time visitors may notice that, no matter how quiet they are, Muramasa always acknowledges their arrival immediately, glancing up from his work at the fire itself or the whetstone he's using to hone an edge on a blade or even just appearing around a corner to confirm the new presence, and then goes back to whatever he was doing witha minimal greeting. He won't kick any one out if they're just here for the ASMR, but he clearly has his own agenda he's following.
As for the others, the God Emperor of the Forge, Aventurine, might be in the main sitting room with his cats and very dignified burrito of blankets as he practices arguing online with people about swords on 🅱️eddit, or he may have retreated to the peace and privacy of the single bedroom (read: storeroom with a futon in it) before guests arrived. Rin is mostly unavailable, off working on some Weird Mage Projects herself (don't ask, but she recently got a syringe from the medical offices). And even though Yuta doesn't sleep at the forge like the other two, he's there plenty as Muramasa's primary assistant, helping to cut charcoal and haul water for quenching. (Sorry Yuta, but you really are doing a lot of the grunt work.)
Muramasa is the single constant presence, always working on something. Hammering red hot metal, polishing shaped blades, filing hand guards, fitting sheaths, shaping handles, mixing flux or bundling brushes, sharpening existing swords, or even just watching the fire to melt down some of his scrap with carefully timed press of the bellows to keep the fire that perfect color. The only breaks seem to be at mealtimes, when a peaceful quiet settles over the forge, accompanied by freshly brewed tea and if we're lucky, the God Emperor of the Forge joins him.
(ooc: a general mingle for the forge, for anyone who wants to visit. there will be a constant threat of muramasa threadjacking but he's mostly background noise if nobody needs him for stuff at the moment. he will be dropping those eaves, though. i know you think he can't listen over the hammering and stuff, but he can. and is. 😊) ]

I felt something. I know that's vague, but... That's about as specific as I can get. I know it was a memory of some kind, and I'm pretty sure it was Tsurumaru's, but other than that it was more like a bunch of feelings than anything else.
The weird thing is... I think something noticed me. The way the resonance ended, it was like it stopped. Or... more like I was kicked out? I didn't even know anything could do that.

Yzak Jule | Gundam SEED | Revelation
#Wildcard & OOC:
Closed to Dearka
At least Yzak's room is comfortable. He's got a couple of pretty nice chairs at his little work desk where they're currently making some adjustments to his Roomba for a rift trip (likely one way). ]
At least now we can take the extra time to make the signal stronger and cover more ground. The proximity to the rifts themselves might be affecting that, so it's not a bad idea to try.
[ At some point, though, he takes a break. Grabs the bottle of water on the desk in front of him, leans back in his chair and looks up at the ceiling, pensive. ]
Do you actually think she's doing all of this?

Leonardo Hamato | ROTTMNT | Revelation
[You ever feel like you just walked into the middle of the story? Cause Leo is feeling like Red Fox in Jupiter Jim 75; Nebular Speedway Supreme. He's on a fast track to nowhere with no inkling of what is really going on. Unfortunately, there have been no car chases to behold. Truly, the biggest let down of all. Yeah, yeah, the disappearances have been happening. It genuinely is a sad thing, but Leo can't do much about it. He's just bumbled his way here and is gonna stay near his brother.
Thus, why the very turtle shaped mutant is collecting cans of bread. Slowly, but surely building a tower in the mess hall out of the way of most of the foot traffic. The tower is... unreasonably tall at this point. How many cans are here? We may never know.
He steps back to survey his work, humming absently. Leo taps a finger against his lips before looking to a poor passerby who dared come looking for the elusive canned bread.]
Think it needs to be taller. I'd ask for your suggestion, but obviously, you'll agree. [Good luck trying to convince him otherwise.]
B. Lockdown
[Leo is now regretting not darting through Kyoto sooner. Even if he had to wear a dumb human disguise. Leo logically understands why they need the whole cloaking thing, but it doesn't make him particularly happy. We be We is a family motto for a reason.
Those living in the Redemption dormitories in the Kyoto base will see Leo just lingering in his brother's room or in the hallway therein. Someone has given up the hotel life and his own actual space to just be here.
He's lingering in the hallway, just obviously bored out of his gord as Donnie has popped off to do Nerd Stuff. He arches an eye ridge at someone who passes.]
Come here often? [A normal question for a turtle who doesn't live here to ask.] This is a prettttyy primo hallway if you ask me. Would better if the paint on here had some sparkles, but you win some, you lose some.
Akagi | Azur Lane | Brimstone

Very much so. But the First Carrier Division's flagship shouldn't debase herself...
STILL, this is Akagi, and whatever Akagi wants to do Kaga is always going to support her without question. After Akagi's latest set Kaga announces her entry to the room with a light knock. She's carrying a tray loaded down with a gently steaming tea pot, earthen cups, honey, sugar, and some light snacks. ]
You should take a break, Nee-sama.
[ Setting the tray down on the room's desk Kaga proceeds to pour the tea out expertly, not a drop spilt, the levels perfect so one can pick it up without concern of splash. A pleasant flowery aroma comes off the cups. ]
Chamomile and honey. For your voice. [ She explains without prompting, adding the honey into Akagi's cup and mixing it. ] Would you care for sugar, Nee-sama.

Donatello - Rise of the TMNT - Redemption
Okay so, with this sickness? I pried a little and asked SYNTHIA if she knew where it started, like who got sick first? It started with the Neo Tokyo base, so... I guess we should start looking there for clues maybe?
Other than that, I also remembered something I was told back in Alexandria. That maybe might put a bit of haste in finding those who fell into rifts. A researcher there babbled at me about how many people were just gone after the first kaiju attack, and the researcher didn't believe the people just disappeared? And about what happens to people when they're exposed to a rift for too long.
[People are free to yell at Donnie for not sharing that theory before now, if they like.]
Lock Down Baby
[Being confined to base isn't too bad, he's got his twin so he's not just being by himself. He's also doing what he can for the sick LILITH staff as well, which may not be much as medical science is not one of his major forte's. So he's doing whatever research he can outside of what the Outsiders have been discussing on the network, and most assuredly not taking care of himself.
In fact what little downtime he allows himself, that doesn't involve Leo being around him? He's in his room, listening to his recordings of past conversations and basically making himself feel shitty.]
Wildcard
[The usual, wanna do something that's not covered by what I've written? Go for it, or hit me up in the discord or on plurk at
obligatory lock down thread
Leo has done his own little lap around the area, did some socializing and now he returns.]
Since we're locked up for the foreseeable future, we should see if we can grow pumpkins. If we make them big enough, we could throw them at kaiju's.
[He finds gardening kind of boring, but he is indulging his brother.]

Gilgamesh | Fate 👑(it's just ideas/discussion!)
After all, the Underworld, Kur, is something like my backyard... a place I have visited innumerable times.
With the contents of my vault, such as scrying devices, tablets, cursed mirrors, and mystic sand, we should have no difficulty traversing this terrain! Indeed, the heart rather thrums with excitement at the thought of such a journey... ah, but there are several points that I should raise:
--In light of the circumstances surrounding the disease which afflicts the crew of LILITH, I am certain it is none other than Sumerian Summer Fever. This illness can be thought of as having a will of its own, an invitation from the Underworld itself. The defeat thereof shall be the clearest path to a cure.
--The land of Kur contains seven gates. In other circumstances, a gate may have a guardian. This provides a possibility as to the fate of those who have been abducted, with what we now know of the goddess. Though this is merely speculative. Regardless of what they entail, one must be prepared for the trials of seven gates.
--Kur contains a sea of pure and primal water, the Apsu. It is possible that this is the location of Ereshkigal. Again, merely speculative, but it would make the most thematic sense for a Beast, would it not?
The mystic sand, however, contains the keystones which can allow us to reach the bottom. The signature of a journey taken some millennia before... heh.
It has been stated that Ereshkigal is now a Beast, an Evil of Humanity. Yet be that as it may, she is still the same hapless goddess. This also has been confirmed, but one would never doubt. A simple proposal presents itself... she perhaps must be re-acquainted with her memories. The beauty of flowers in Kur might also have some effect. ... well, it is a shame that the golden sheep is not here, or Santa Claus for that matter, but no matter, I am certain that my Authority will be useful here. Though this is a journey of many deeds and shall require many hands.
In receipt of this knowledge, what would each of you propose for our course?
@kuzunoha14
- Is there anything we can do to mitigate the fever in the meanwhile?
- I've heard that the entrance might be reachable via caves. Do you agree with this? What is the fastest way to find one? Please don't say through dying.
- LILITH's process of bringing certain kinds of people to Neo Tokyo tends to cause them to lose a lot of their original power. On her home turf, I expect we might be facing an Ereshkigal at her strongest, yes?
- We are to presume then that those who have been kidnapped via rifts have been taken to become guardians of the gates. Are they dead? Will we have to kill one in order to pass through a gate?

Dearka Elthman | Mobile Suit Gundam SEED | Revelation
Closed to SEED cast (shinn first) (CW blood, limb loss)
That's the message the others receive in the group chat. The only indication that something's SERIOUSLY wrong. Dearka sends it before Yzak's even gone, desperate in the moment for any kind of backup to get there and help him save his best friend from the localized rift that was trying to swallow him up.
It's closed now. Gone. Taking Yzak and one of Dearka's arms with it. Literally cut loose from the weight he was clinging to, tugging at, the backlash sends Dearka sprawling backwards, where he's collapses to the floor. Where he's still laying.
There are not a lot of coherent thoughts going through his head, by this point. The one thing he does note, as he turns and sees the stump where his left arm used to be, is how odd it is that it doesn't even hurt. It's a perfectly clean, even cut... As if what used to be at the end there never even existed in the first place. The nerves never got the chance to fire, to acknowledge the separation, to warn him of impending injury.
And now he's bleeding all over the new carpet. Profusely.
Yzak would be so pissed at me, one part of his brain thinks blearily.
Another part screams at him. YOU'RE GOING TO BLEED OUT. IF YOU DON'T DO SOMETHING. IMMEDIATELY! And it's right. He knows it is, even if he feels like his heart's been ripped in half as well, and he just wants to lay here for a minute. He fights against the shock. Tries to sit up. His brain is a jumble. Tourniquet. Remember your training. You can't help him if you're dead.]

Astarion Ancunin | Baldur's Gate 3 | Brimstone | OTA
What unprecedented times we find ourselves in.
The need to pass time, find new distractions to keep our minds from disaster after disaster, has brought me to an old what I suppose we could call "hobby" I would do while indefinitely idle: Embroidery. Or mending.
With the state of the staff as they are, I'm sure some of you will need some holes and tears patched up. Or perhaps you would just like something beautiful added to the mundane rags LILITH gave us daring to call them clothing.
(Payment can be discussed in person.)
002. Livin' la Vida Lockdown
[It's rare for Astarion to be apart from Taryon in recent weeks, as paranoid as Astarion is about a rift stealing the man away. Plus, he was a source of entertainment and distraction that Astarion was grateful to have. But even the self-centered Astarion knows when Taryon needed some space, usually when they get snippy at each other in a Not Fun way.
When those moments come, Astarion goes out into the common rooms, more often than not with embroidery supplies and a sewing kit as of late, and methodically works while listening to classical music. His recent project are red spider lilies along the cuff of a collared shirt.
When he decides to notice someone watching him work, he drawls out:]
Are you here for me to mend a piece of clothing, or is your lockdown hobby lurking over shoulders?
003. Misc
[If you want a unique, closed starter lmk your idea! Or feel free to write one of your own. PM me if you want to plan anything.]
002
One thing that he's had to get used to, around this world, is being idle. Something that he doesn't do well with. Which means it takes a lot for him not to pace the floor and wait out whatever is going to happen. Wait out another kaiju attack.
He'd found some random book before heading toward the common room and taken note of Astarion's work even as he sits down. ]
Not lurking, admiring. That a new hobby or old one?

Ratchet misses First Aid, and not for the first time.
He's exhausted, and in dire need of a proper epidemiologist, which First Aid did happen to be. He's as worried as anybody else about Dr. Ratio and Yzak and the rest of them, but with Kaladin and Dr. Ratio gone he's left with a skeleton crew of willing helpers and not much else. He'd been working with LILITH staff from the beginning--it's not like he can get some weird organic disease by contact--but had gradually allowed others to assist once it was obvious they wouldn't get sick the same way the LILITH staff are, which is horribly. It's a full-time job just keeping up with all the fluids people are expelling, let alone treating their illness. He's been snatching time from when he's supposed to be recharging doing research on the 'flu' or whatever it's supposed to be, testing samples and running cultures, but he's no closer to a cure and things are getting dire. He hasn't recharged properly in days, as busy as he is with taking care of patients and doing research, and he's near the end of his tether with all this organic mess to which he's still not accustomed.
In short, if you show up to the medical bay and you're not bleeding to death, be prepared to be given a job.
no subject
Or at least no complaints except when it comes to bodily fluids. But he is totally doing his best to keep that to himself.
Except one thing;
"I know you're not organic, but you should take a break?" Said in a moment when he catches Ratchet mid-work?
